There is a time for everything. One for a place like AlmaCalma, and another for different kinds of places. The soul may long for many distant horizons, and it is a beautiful thing when we reach the places we truly wish for. So yes, AlmaCalma is not for everyone. Some people would love it and feel deeply at ease here; others would not. And that is exactly as it should be.
AlmaCalma is a house. Simply a house. A traditional rural home, with Transylvanian outbuildings and a story that stretches back more than 170 years. Restored with great care, and deeply loved. With rooms that differ from one another, as in any real home. Beyond the quiet garden you see as you enter through the gate, behind the barn, there is a large courtyard filled with wildflowers, fruit trees and life, where, if you wish, you can disappear into the grass, listening to the birds while watching the clouds slowly change.
There is no reception desk, no hotel atmosphere or services. No resort-like buzz. Yet, for the right people, at the right moment in their lives, there are many small details that quietly matter – and a deeply comforting sense of home.
Alma Vii itself is not a village for everyone either. It is not for those hoping to discover a new resort. On the contrary, it is for those who do not want to see hotel after hotel and restaurant after restaurant, who are not searching for amusement parks or crowds. For those who do not need to be constantly entertained and who don’t travel with a checklist of places to tick off.
But it is a remarkable place for those who wish to discover the quiet charm of Transylvania. For those who want to breathe in a real village, authentic and not created for tourists. For those drawn to history, art and culture. For those who value simple, good things. For those who prefer to move at their own pace. For those who enjoy nature, walks through the village and over the hills, reading, conversation and intimacy. Even for moments of solitude — to rest, gather one’s thoughts, work or find inspiration. For those who seek quiet — the quiet born from the many natural sounds of village life and the living landscape.
If you are at a moment in your life when such things feel close to your heart, you may come to love this place. That is what happened to us.
