A place like no other
Finding quiet on the map
In the heart of Transylvania, the village of Alma Vii in Sibiu County preserves one of the most valuable legacies of Saxon rural heritage. With its remarkable fortified church, flawlessly restored and awarded the European Heritage Grand Prix in 2024, its colourful houses honouring traditional architecture, and its abundant nature, the village has remained almost untouched by the passing centuries. Nestled between hills and forests, with warm-hearted people and a rare tranquillity, it invites you to discover its charm at a gentle pace.

AlmaCalma, seen through their eyes
The house is absolutely enchanting, restored with great care and attention to detail, exuding serenity, peace, and good taste. The courtyard is an oasis of relaxation where you can rest in a hammock in the shade of a tree and listen to the flutter of birds’ wings high in the sky, with a wonderful view of the fortified church on the hill, or gaze at the starry sky and the Milky Way at night.

We loved it and will gladly return; the few days spent at AlmaCalma were like a breath of fresh air! We enjoyed everything we found there: a lush, well-tended courtyard full of flowers and the song of crickets, offering such beautiful views of the surroundings and the fortified church; a house so lovely it seems to turn its face to follow the sun.

AMAZING PLACE! Absolutely gorgeous village, beautiful garden with the village castle opposite looking right over it. There are hammocks in the garden, sooooo relaxing. The rooms are beautifully decorated & the hosts are sooooo nice & welcoming. 10/10 would recommend. Probably give it more than 10 if I could… 12/10.

We found here the quiet and the energy we needed. We saved a house we fell in love with, and in return, it made us happier. We made mistakes and learned a great deal during the restoration, pouring our hearts and immense effort into the process. We surrounded ourselves with beauty and kind people, and now, Alma Vii is our favourite place in the world. We want to share AlmaCalma with people who feel and see the world the way we do.
