THE ART OF
SLOW LIVING

IN THE HEART OF TRANSYLVANIA

Settle in gently,
you are in Alma Vii

Here, slow living is not a new, trendy concept. It is the defining rhythm of the region—ancient and unwavering. An art of living with mindfulness, intention, and a deep reverence for life. To an untrained eye, it may seem like a sluggish pace, but it is, in fact, rooted in the belief that there is a right time for everything.

AlmaCalma has naturally embraced this rhythm. The place teaches you not to fill every waking minute. To listen more intently. To observe the little things. To strive for something else: fewer objects, fewer crowds, yet more value and profound depth. Simple, wholesome food, a quiet stroll, an unhurried conversation. Work without multitasking, free hours that are genuinely free. Purchasing with care, supporting artisans and their crafts, choosing things that endure. A rhythm that, once felt, becomes a form of mental hygiene, inner peace, and cultural resilience.

Discover

The AlmaCalma Garden

or where sweet tranquility blooms

To lie in a hammock and feel the breeze gently approaching, slipping beneath the pages of your book as you smilingly lose your place. To gaze through half-closed eyes at the fortress, unchanged for centuries. To let the fresh, vibrant green around you pulse within. To breathe the crisp air deeply.

Then, to ascend the hill along the path. To taste the beautifully imperfect fruits you find along the way. To discover what new tales have unfolded around the birdhouses and molehills. To wander among wildflowers. To rest beside the hazel or beneath the walnut tree. To reach the old cart track, and from there, to roam the hills and woodlands. A simple exercise in stillness. Yet one that heals and empowers. It trickles a love for life into your soul. It nourishes your inspiration.

A spot in

the Barn

sheltered in nature

The barn is a welcoming, open space. A place where you are outdoors, immersed in nature, yet perfectly sheltered. It lures you with cool shade on summer days, while in winter, it seeks to hypnotize you with the beauty of falling snow.

Upon an impressive skeleton of centuries-old oak (a true joy for any wood lover), rests a roof of antique, scale-shaped tiles, interspersed with “magic tiles” that allow the light to filter through. A space where you can enjoy the garden and the sunrise in the morning over a cup of coffee. At midday, it’s the perfect spot for an outdoor board game, shielded from the harsh sunlight. Toward sunset, at tea or wine hour, it invites you to relax and watch the golden rays weaving through the flowers on the hill. And on special days, this ancient, steadfast barn—which has witnessed more than we will ever know—proudly and joyfully plays host to events.

Nature

Across the Transylvanian Highlands

And beyond our garden, the rhythm remains unhurried, the nature—of inexhaustible beauty. Hiking trails, ancient forests, cycling routes, the Via Transilvanica, and splendid landscapes await you.
